Prince William and Kate Middleton have released their first official family photos
with their bundle of joy, almost one-month-old first-born son George
Alexander Louis. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were photographed
earlier this month at the Middletons' home in Bucklebury, Berkshire by
Kate's father Michael.
Two photos, released on Monday, feature Prince William in his long-sleeved blue shirt and jeans and Kate in her fuschia dress holding Baby George wrapped in a white blanket. The other photo has the royal family sitting on a picnic blanket posing with the Middletons' pet golden retriever Tilly and Lupo, the cocker spaniel which the couple adopted last year.
This batch of new photos serves as Baby George's second photo-op, the first being that time outside the London's St. Mary's Hospital when he was first presented to the media and the public as he was going to be brought home by his proud parents. More photos of the newborn Prince George with his parents as well as other family members from both the royal and Middleton side are expected to be released once the baby's christening happens this fall.
William and Kate chose to divert from tradition of having professional family portraits taken of their newborn baby, even looking less formal and more relaxed in contrast to William's own first official family photo with Prince Charles and Princess Diana taken by his great-uncle, photographer Lord Snowden, back in 1982 where he was wearing a long, laced gown.
